Course Search in Connect Carolina

The Office of the University Registrar maintains a course search engine for classes offered every term. This search engine can be accessed from the Registrar’s website  or through Connect Carolina in the Student Services Center (ONYEN and password required). To search for open seats in an FYS, set the course number criteria to “less than or equal to 89” and select the “Show Open Classes Only” box. Use the additional search criteria to narrow your search.

First Year Seminar Class Listings

The First Year Seminar website lists and describes all FYS that are planned for fall, spring, and summer terms.

General Education Requirements

Information about the requirements fulfilled by each First Year Seminar can be found in ConnectCarolina and the Undergraduate Catalog. The information is also displayed in the FYS Website’s listing of FYS by semester. First Year Seminars numbered “89” are rotating topics courses that do not carry the same General Education designations from semester to semester.
